Ik ben zo trots dat mijn gedicht ‘Fatherland’ is opgenomen in de uitgave ‘Homeland’ van Livina Press uit Louisiana, Verenigde Staten. Dit pareltje bevat poëzie, creatieve non-fictie en essays van schrijvers van over de hele wereld. Elk stuk draait rond het thema Thuisland.
Het boek is te koop via Amazon, als ebook, hardcover en paperback. De opbrengsten gaan naar Palestijnse vluchtelingen, voor wie dit thema een bijzonder bittere klank heeft gekregen, nu meer dan ooit tevoren.
Veel kunnen we als ‘gewone mens’ niet doen aan de wreedheden in Gaza, maar we kunnen in elk geval wel onze stem laten horen en bijdragen aan organisaties – in dit geval de United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) – die op de een of andere manier (proberen te) helpen.
Of zoals hoofdredacteur Laci L. Felker het zo treffend verwoordt:
